The Church of St. Peter & St. Paul, Warsop was listed in the Domesday Book of 1086. It stands on a hill between the town of Warsop and the village of Church Warsop. In the sixteenth century, the parish was joined up with the hamlet of Sookholme containing the tiny eleventh century church of St. Augustine.
