This is
an ecumenical venture with input from the Methodist Church on the second
Sunday of every month, but usually we have Evangelical Anglican worship
consisting of Holy Communion or an informal office.
The
congregation has members who were Roman Catholics, Methodists, Anglicans or
Pentecostals, but who have a bond in support of one another and the
community in which we live. Some members worship in other congregations as
well. We are clustered with St Lawrence’s, St Alban’s Forest Town, and All
Saint’s Clipstone.
Priest-in-charge Philip Stead is also Vicar of the adjoining Parish of St. Alban's, Forest Town. Our Reader is
Alan Baines who lives in the area.
We have
no premises of our own and worship on Sundays at 10.30 in the Leisure
Centre on Oak Tree Lane Estate. On Wednesdays at 10.30 am we meet in the
Willingham Court complex, again on Oak Tree Lane.
Each
month we have cluster Evensongs in the other churches in the cluster as
arranged
Our
congregation routinely numbers no more than 15 at any service (Christmas
or a baptism can easily triple that number). However, our footprint on the
estate is large. Our Reader is involved with
hospital chaplaincy, the Appropriate Adult Service and Estate Management
teams, and is a Governor of Queen Elizabeth’s School
