St. Augustine's was built to serve the spiritual needs of the growing post-war population to the north-east of Mansfield, particularly the Bull Farm estate. The Parish now shares its priest with St. Barnabas, Pleasley Hill
TO GET TO ST AUGUSTINE, MANSFIELD
BUS: 1. Stagecoach Mansfield 5* (Mansfield - Bull Farm): get off as the bus turns into Ruskin Road. 5 minute walk down Abbott Road. Church drive on left. 2. The following stop in Abbott Road near Church driveway: Stagecoach Mansfield 23B (Mansfield - Langwith); those Stagecoach Mansfield 53's* (Mansfield - Bolsover - Clowne - Sheffield) that divert via Fairholme Drive; Midland General 145* (Mansfield - Sutton - Kirkby - Blidworth). 3.The following run along Chesterfield Road (get off at Rufford Arms and walk for about 5 mins. up Abbott Road to Church drive on right): Pronto (Nottingham - Mansfield - Chesterfield); 23* (Mansfield - Shirebrook - Langwith); those 53's (Mansfield - Bolsover - Clowne - Sheffield) that do NOT divert via Fairholme Drive. *Not Sundays.
